Position Overview /
We are seeking an energetic, creative and passionate candidate to assist with the development and delivery of our outdoor nature programs including summer community presentations and the delivery of our summer day camps. The position takes place in Greater Vancouver, BC.
Duties and Responsibilities /
Research, development and preparation of our outdoor, hands-on environmental education programs including a summer community presentation and our summer day camps.
Delivery of our interpretive outdoor nature programs including interpretive nature tours and community presentations to children and adults
Delivery of 2 weeks of our summer day camp programs for children (ages 6-9) in July and August
Ripple Coast representative at outreach events and activities as opportunities arise
Assist with the development of outreach/marketing material and updating website and social media as needed
Administrative and other project-related tasks as required
Continually assist in seeking opportunities for development and growth
Qualifications, skills and abilities /
Excellent communications skills with people of all ages (both verbal and written)
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and problem-solve
Experience working with children in a teaching setting
Organized and resourceful with a demonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize projects
Must have access to a vehicle
Willingness to secure First Aid certification and criminal record check
Enjoy working indoors and outdoors, rain or shine
Experience or willingness to work with people from diverse backgrounds
Background in BC’s coastal ecosystem and conservation issues an asset
Environmental studies or related post-secondary education preferred

Funding for this position is provided through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. To be eligible, you must meet the following funding criteria:
Be between 15 - 30 years of age at the start of employment
A recent full-time student returning to full-time studies in Fall 2019
A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person under refugee protection
Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
Members of a visible minority or aboriginal heritage may be given priority
Salary Details /
Job Type: Temporary
Anticipated hours: 30 hours per week
Total hours: 240 (8 weeks)
Salary: $13.85/ hour
Location: Greater Vancouver, BC (Vancouver and New Westminster area)

July 2, 2019 - August 23, 2019
